Evening Ceremony: 6:00–7:15 pm
Ceremony for graduates in the schools of education, nursing, and social and behavioral sciences

All activities will take place on February 27, 2020. Graduates traveling to the ceremony should plan to arrive on Wednesday, February 26, and book return flights on Friday, February 28.

Tickets

All graduates and their guests over the age of 3 years will require tickets for entry to commencement on Thursday, February 27, 2020. Upon registration, an email confirmation including the requested tickets will be sent to the graduate’s Purdue Global email.

Download and print your tickets, or log in to the registration site to email them to your guests.

Guest Limit

3 guests per graduate. During the registration process, graduates will select 1 ticket for themselves and up to 3 tickets for their guests.

Waitlist Tickets

Sign up for waitlist tickets during the registration process. Waitlist tickets are dependent on available space after registration closes and are not guaranteed. Those on the waitlist will be contacted in mid-January to advise if additional tickets are available. Waitlist spots will be filled in the order that graduates signed up.

Eligibility

Students whose final term ends on or before Wednesday, February 26, 2020, are eligible to participate in this ceremony. Students with final terms ending after February 26, 2020, will be eligible for the next ceremony held after their final term ends.

Caps & Gowns

Order through Jostens by Thursday, January 9, 2020. All caps and gowns are black, and all tassels are black and gold. Master’s and doctorate’s gowns come with hoods that are color-coded by degree, and doctorate gowns have degree-color velvet strips. If you are unsure which major to select, visit the Caps and Gowns page to view a list of degrees and corresponding Jostens selections.

Those who miss the deadline should contact Jostens at 800-854-7464 to see if a late order will be accepted. Caps and gowns will not be sold at the venue.

Reader Cards

All graduates are required to have a reader card that displays their name and degree, which will be used to call out their name when they cross the stage. Reader cards will be mailed out with the Graduation Event Guide to the shipping address in your student file as of January 9, 2020.

Vocalist Contest

Do you want to sing the National Anthem at the February 27, 2020, ceremony? Submit a YouTube video of yourself singing the National Anthem by Thursday, January 9, 2020, to graduation@purdueglobal.edu. View submission instructions and official contest rules.

Travel & Hotel

View a list of hotels and other travel information. The Hotel must be booked by Monday, February 10, 2020, to receive the discounted rates.

Graduation Event Guide

A Graduation Event Guide, which contains important ceremony details and ceremony reader cards, will be mailed out to registered graduates in late January. Graduates should update their shipping address on their student portal page by January 9, 2020 to ensure the items are received.

Dress for the event is business casual.

Note: Ceremony end time is approximate and may end earlier or later depending on how fast or slow graduates cross the stage.

  • 2:00–3:00 pm PT: Alumni Meet and Greet, Graduate Services Area open
  • 3:00–4:15 pm PT: Afternoon Commencement. This ceremony is for graduates in the schools of business, information technology, health sciences, and Concord Law School.
  • 5:00–6:00 pm PT: Alumni Meet and Greet, Graduate Services area open
  • 6:00–7:15 pm PT: Evening Commencement. This ceremony is for graduates in the schools of education, nursing, and social and behavioral sciences.

Important Deadlines

January 23, 2020: Last day to cancel your attendance at the February 27, 2020 ceremony. Email graduation@purdueglobal.edu with details.

February 10, 2020: Last day to reserve hotel rooms.


Graduate Services Area

The following departments will be present to offer assistance and answer questions.

  • Concord Law School: Learn more about earning a law degree from Concord Law School at Purdue University Global.
  • Graduate Services: Exchange honor cords, caps, gowns, or tassels; sizes and quantities are limited.
  • Military Affairs: Pick up a commemorative challenge coin if you are a veteran, active military student, and/or a military spouse.
  • Office of the Registrar: Get answers to grade point average (GPA) and degree questions and exchange academic honor cords.
  • Purdue Alumni Association: Tap into the power of more than 600,000 accomplished Purdue and Purdue Global alumni to grow both personally and professionally.
