Purdue Global launches 3 new business degrees for marketing, human resources and finance

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Purdue Global’s School of Business and Information Technology has launched three new degree programs tailored to meet the demand in growing fields, equipping graduates with the ability to navigate AI and complex business issues.
The Bachelor of Science in marketing, Bachelor of Science in human resource management and a Master of Business Administration/Master of Science in finance dual degree program are now available and accepting enrollments.
“Purdue Global is always working with our industry partners to address workforce readiness and career advancement,” said Jeffrey Buck, School of Business and Information Technology dean and vice president. “These new degree programs — and access to AI, analytics and other tech programs — will prepare the data-driven workforce for the changing business landscape.”
Bachelor of Science in marketing
Purdue Global’s Bachelor of Science in marketing upgrades the current concentration within the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration program. With input from industry advisory boards, the new Bachelor of Science in marketing helps working adults master AI-driven platforms and ethical and socially responsible marketing practices.
Students use Google Analytics, digital marketing platforms, customer relationship management systems and AI optimization. A dedicated artificial intelligence course teaches AI for analytics, customer segmentation and asset creation. Students can earn a Google digital marketing and e-commerce certificate while completing their regular coursework.
“Students in the marketing program develop in-demand skills in digital marketing, consumer behavior, market research and brand strategy,” said Cathy Hochanadel, academic department chair and faculty member in the School of Business and Information Technology. “This well-rounded approach ensures graduates are equipped to plan, execute and evaluate effective marketing campaigns from Day 1.”
Bachelor of Science in human resource management
Labor market data shows an increasing need for human resources managers; specialists; assistants; and those who specialize in compensation, benefits and training. Purdue Global’s Bachelor of Science in human resource management meets the requirements for additional professional certifications, including Society for Human Resource Management-Certified Professional. This is an expansion of the current HR concentration in the business administration program and includes the use of data analytics and statistical tools to make evidence-based business decisions.
“This new degree program helps workers move into management roles for existing specialists and can serve as a foundational entry point for career changers,” said Rebecca Herman, academic department chair and faculty member in the School of Business and Information Technology.
Master of Business Administration and Master of Science in finance dual degree option
With today’s organizations requiring employees and leaders who can bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and complex financial data, Purdue Global’s dual MBA/Master of Science in finance degree can help position workers who are seeking career advancement.
“The dual expertise of strategic business acumen and advanced financial technicality will help leaders in a variety of business, finance and budget settings,” Herman said. “Many of our current students in the MBA program were already seeking a finance concentration.”
The integrated dual program is 88 credits, allowing a time-to-degree advantage by completing both programs together instead of doing each program separately. Standardized tests for graduate education programs are not required for enrollment in Purdue Global’s program.
A person having two advanced degrees typically commands higher starting salaries and provides greater upward mobility into executive-level leadership, Herman said.
Credit for prior learning
The Bachelor of Science in marketing and Bachelor of Science in human resource management degrees are eligible for credit for prior learning. Students can submit previous college credits, certifications, licensures, and job and military service experiences for credit for prior learning consideration. This can significantly reduce the time and cost of earning a degree. During 2024-25, Purdue Global awarded over 1 million credits for prior learning.
