What Courses Will I Take?
The women’s health nurse practitioner certificate program helps you develop the skills to evaluate the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of women across their lifespan. The program curriculum integrates foundational nurse practitioner competencies with specialized content in prenatal and postpartum care, contraception and family planning, fertility, menopause, and complex gynecologic conditions.

1 semester credit hour = 1.5 quarter credit hours
Virtual Reality Learning
The online WHNP certificate program uses VR technology to provide students with an immersive learning experience to practice clinical procedures in a virtual setting. Highly visual 3D simulations replicate real-life scenarios and health care procedures to provide nursing students opportunities to practice skills learned in courses.
Healthcare Simulation Standards Endorsement
Purdue Global’s School of Nursing's immersive VR learning program achieved the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) Healthcare Simulation Standards Endorsement, signifying a commitment that every simulation activity (including VR) is thoughtfully designed to meet educational goals while adhering to best practices that promote safety, reliability, and measurable outcomes.
Admissions Requirements
A master's degree with an upper-level major in nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and an approved criminal background check is required. You will need to provide an official transcript that shows your degree completion with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher from an accredited institution, though an unofficial copy may be provided during the application process. Pursue WHNP-BC Certification
Prepare to sit for the Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner Board Certification (WHNP-BC®) exam administered by the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
After earning your certification, you may be academically eligible for licensure as an APRN in any state where the program is available for enrollment.
