According to Joshua Shanley, a fire science and emergency management faculty member at Purdue Global with over 30 years of experience in emergency services, having a plan and the right supplies dramatically reduces stress and allows for quick evacuation in an emergency. Shanley said the best tool for emergency readiness is a go bag, which contains the essentials a person or family needs for evacuation on short notice.
