Navigating the evolving AI landscape requires constant education, improved security and vigilance. Shaila Rana, a faculty member who specializes in AI and cybersecurity in Purdue Global’s School of Business and Information Technology, emphasizes human factors as AI’s biggest security risk.

To effectively address these concerns, Rana believes organizations must shift from a human-in-the-loop approval process to a human-above-the-loop or human-on-the-loop approach, allowing AI to handle routine processes while humans make consequential decisions.

In this video, Rana discusses the biggest security risks with AI, basic steps we can all take to use AI programs safely and securely, and the most important takeaways about AI security.

Rana’s findings are in her recently released book, “The Human Side of AI Security.”
