Purdue Global awards credit for professional coursework that has been reviewed by the American Council of Education (ACE) or Purdue Global staff using ACE guidelines and determined to be college level. Coursework for ACE college credits may include formal educational examinations, programs, and courses offered by organizations for their employees, members, or customers. These organizations may include business and industry, labor unions, professional and voluntary associations, schools, training suppliers, and government agencies.
Articulation agreements help streamline the process for awarding credit for fire service-related certifications you may have already earned to be considered fit for duty. If you earned your certifications though an organization that is accredited by IFSAC or the Pro Board, including the U.S. Department of Defense Firefighter Certification System, you may be eligible to receive credit toward a Purdue Global degree program. Learn more about our fire science articulation agreements.
Purdue Global recognizes the valuable learning achieved by state and local law enforcement officers. If you are a certified sworn law enforcement officer, your accomplishments may qualify you to receive credit toward a degree in any of our undergraduate programs of study.† Depending upon your program of study, credits can be applied toward major course requirements or electives. You must currently be a certified U.S. law enforcement officer or must have been certified within 24 months of your enrollment date to be eligible. Speak to an Advisor to learn more.
You can earn credit for IT certifications and examinations completed within the past 3 years. View a full listing of certifications and exams approved for transfer.
Whether you’re interested in earning a degree or taking courses strictly for the sake of learning, Purdue Global’s open-course partners offer you a variety of options. Many courses have been evaluated and recommended for ACE college credit by the American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE CREDIT). Course partners include Saylor Academy, Sophia, and StraighterLine.
