Master of Science in Nursing, 2011

Alum - Jennifer Mercer

Jennifer Mercer grew up in Mobile, Alabama. She worked in health care for more than a dozen years and earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, in May 2008. She soon decided to enroll at Purdue Global's Master of Science in Nursing program with a concentration in Nurse Educator.

Jennifer had a lot on her plate. "I was raising two teenagers as a single mom at the time I started my program and dating a wonderful man (who I eventually married) with four children of his own."

Purdue Global proved to be a great fit for Jennifer. "I had a great experience from the first time I was contacted by an enrollment specialist and wanted to make Purdue Global the place where I would matriculate with my Master of Science in Nursing. The instructors care about their students' success. I loved the atmosphere and pleasant professionalism from the advising team all the way through my professors."

Jennifer graduated from Purdue Global in May 2011. "I loved Purdue Global so much that I wanted to be a part of the great experience for future alum of the University."

She joined Purdue Global as an employee in 2015. "I have had the opportunity to work in some awesome and diverse nursing programs, which afforded me the opportunity to join the team as a Clinical Student Manager for the Master of Science in Nursing program."

Jennifer loves working at Purdue Global. "A typical day for me consists of communicating with both current and prospective clinical sites as well as students among the 18 states I cover for, assisting with placement of nursing students from one of our five graduate nursing degrees here at Purdue Global. Once students complete all of their requirements for a clinical rotation, I communicate with one of our wonderful members of the academic team so the student can get registered for their various practicum experiences."
