Dr. McDonald joined the Purdue Global (formerly Kaplan University) School of Nursing faculty as an adjunct in November of 2014 and accepted the position as full time adult-gerontological nurse practitioner program lead in the graduate program in March 2016.
Dr. McDonald holds a Doctor of Health Science from Nova Southeastern University and a Master of Science in Nursing degree from Yale University. She is certified as both a gerontological and adult-gerontological nurse practitioner.
Prior to coming to Purdue Global, Dr. McDonald held positions in undergraduate and graduate nursing education and in primary care practice. She is the author of several publications and has been a national and international speaker. Her most recent research “Prevalence, Severity, and Associated Factors of Depression in the Uninsured” was presented at The Royal College of Surgeons School of Nursing and Midwifery in Dublin, Ireland.
