Susan Ferebee, PhD
When Dr. Ferebee is not busy teaching for Purdue Global, she enjoys gardening, remodeling her home, and travelling. In addition to teaching, Dr. Ferebee performs research and is a published author in the area of online leadership, online communication, and persuasive technology.
Dr. Ferebee is a published author and presents her research at numerous international conferences. Her most recent research is related to integrating neuroscience into the field of persuasive technology design. The benefit for her and for her students is that she is in contact with many of the leaders in the information technology field and presents findings from original research, internationally, as a representative of Purdue Global.
Dr. Ferebee is a reviewer for Computing Reviews and has been writing reviews for the newest articles related to web and virtual communication for the last 7 years. She enjoys doing this because it keeps her writing skills honed as well as giving her access to the most current research in her area of expertise.
Dr. Ferebee also serves as a peer reviewer for several conferences and journals. Again, the benefit for her, and consequently for her students, is that she reads much of the most current research in the technology field.
Although she has had limited time recently to participate in this activity, in the past she has taught summer classes for the Duke University TIP Program, which is a program for gifted middle school and high school children. She teaches these students web development in a summer camp atmosphere at various universities around the country.
