Dr. Susan Archibald
Dr. Susan Archibald is academic department chair of the Bachelor of Science and Master of Health Care Administration programs as well as the Medical Office Administration Certificate. Through careful oversight of faculty instruction and course participation, she helps provide a positive and significant student experience. Her steadfast support of her faculty has allowed them to go above and beyond for students on a regular basis.
Dr. Archibald has been with Purdue Global (formerly Kaplan University) since 2008 and teaching online since 2006. Prior to 2006, she worked in several venues in health care, including the hospital, nursing home, home health care, hospice, a geriatric/psychiatric locked unit, an adolescent psychiatric program, and as a private practitioner in geriatric care management. She was awarded Social Worker of the Year and Activity Director of the Year Awards in Tennessee, where she worked in a skilled nursing facility.
Dr. Archibald graduated from Capella University with a Doctorate in Human Services with a concentration in healthcare administration. Her dissertation was entitled “An exploratory study of the experiences of ambiguous grief issues in grandparents raising grandchildren.” She attended California College for Health Sciences and earned a Master of Science in Community Wellness and Healthcare Promotion. She graduated from Thomas A. Edison State College earning a Bachelor of Science in Human Services with a specialization in gerontology.
