Derrick Clouston is a full-time faculty member at Purdue University Global. Derrick’s career started in 1987 as a volunteer at Stoney Point Fire Department in Cumberland County, and worked for five years with the City of Fayetteville Fire Department assigned to the Haz Mat team. Currently, he is the Field Service Supervisor responsible for Fire and Rescue Training section within NC DOI OSFM. He serves as Assistant Chief with East Side Fire Department in Randolph County and is the Accreditation manager for Stoney Point Fire Department.
His education includes an AAS in Fire Protection Technology from Central Piedmont Community College, BS Public Administration Fire Service Emphasis from Upper Iowa University, and a Masters in Public Administration from UNC-Pembroke. He is state certified as an Instructor IV, Fire Officer IV, Haz Mat Specialist, and several other specialty instructor certifications. Other accomplishments include graduating from the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program in January of 2005, awarded his Chief Fire Officer Designation in January of 2008 by the Center for Public Safety Excellence. Derrick also serves as a Chief Fire Officer Designation Peer Reviewer and as a Level I Peer Assessor for the Center for Fire Accreditation International.
He currently resides in Asheboro with his wife Heather and son Baron.
