Rebecca Herman, PhD

With over 25 years of relevant leadership experience, Dr. Rebecca Herman enjoyed a progressive career in various roles, organizations, and industries. Her retail industry career began in store management with The Limited followed by a period with TJ Maxx where she worked in merchandising/buying and later in its 1.3 million sq. ft. distribution center as a quality control manager. Her combined experiences led her to a successful career with The Home Depot where she served in numerous human resources management roles at the corporate level.

Rebecca is a member of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority and has given more than 25 years of continuous service and leadership within this organization. Service roles have provided an opportunity to work with college women, campus administrators, and volunteers in a wide range of positions at the local, regional, and international level. Her current role is an elected member of the International Executive Board where she serves as vice president. She has been actively involved with the Institute of Behavioral Management since 2005 and is currently serving as vice president/program chair.

Dean’s Message:

“Dr. Herman joined Purdue Global (formerly Kaplan University) in 2005 as an adjunct instructor and was soon named department chair for Human Resources and Organizational Behavior. In 2006 she became assistant dean of faculty and simultaneously served as interim dean for the School of Business and Information Technology until late in 2008. Later, Dr. Herman accepted the position of associate dean for the bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. To pursue her passion for teaching and academic research, Dr. Herman requested a change to full-time graduate professor in 2010.”
