Dr. Rachel Byers
Dr. Rachel Byers earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a minor in computer science as well as a Master of Science in Accounting from the University of Alabama. During her graduate studies, Dr. Byers was a graduate teaching assistant and fell in love with teaching. She graduated with honors and immediately passed the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Exam and began practicing as a CPA in a small firm in Alabama, all the while continuing to teach for local colleges and online schools as an adjunct accounting instructor. Her love for teaching led her to pursue her doctoral degree, which she completed in 2012 through Capella University.
She taught for multiple online and brick-and-mortar schools prior to starting with Purdue Global (formerly Kaplan University) in 2011. She has taught various courses at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, including financial accounting, managerial accounting, tax, audit, and various other business courses.
She continues to practice at her small firm, Byers, Byers, and Associates P.C., in Daphne, AL. Her office focuses on small business accounting work and individual and corporate income tax preparation.
She is married to her loving wife Megan, and they have two daughters, Daylyn and Briley Grace. She is very active in sports, her church, and her community.
