Jeff Tyler

Mr. Jeff Tyler is a semi-retired project management professional (PMP) with over 30 years’ extensive project management experience in the IT, Telecom, Department of Defense, Transportation, and Aerospace industries. He now teaches in graduate school.

Mr. Tyler is one of the contributing authors to the Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). He is called on to develop training, curriculum, and test material for PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and he’s been a PMP since the late 1990s. Mr. Tyler has substantial program management experience with virtual and international projects as well as in-house programs. He also has referred publications, a book, and presentations in project management.

He lives in Colorado Springs, CO with Katy, his wife. Mr. Tyler enjoys the great outdoors as he teaches, writes about and aids in the development of project and program management tools, techniques, and processes.

“Mr. Tyler helped charter the Pikes Regional Chapter of PMI and served as the vice president (VP) for public relations, VP for education and certification, chapter president, and board chairman. He also served as the program manager for Military Space Systems, providing programmatic leadership in such leading-edge technologies such as the NASA Advanced Communications Technology Satellite (ACTS); exploiting T-3 communications; capabilities into areas that lacked Local Exchange Carrier service with both fixed beam and re-directable beam satellite communications capability, the GPS Attitude Determination Device orienting GPS capabilities into three-axis positioning for ground vehicles; the military use of the Orbital Science's LEOCOMM Satellite Constellation to provide instantaneous text messaging/paging capabilities anywhere in the world; and national classified uses of the space medium.”
