Ernest Norris, PhD

Dr. Ernest Alonza Norris’ personal teaching philosophy is, "Learning can be fun, challenging, and provide intrinsic and extrinsic rewards...although one must be willing to invest in the journey.” Dr. Norris enjoys attending and presenting at scholarly conferences. When time allows, he also enjoys playing basketball, golf, and bowling. He currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dean’s Message:

“Dr. Norris was the first in his family to earn a doctorate degree. He has a diverse background that includes experience in manufacturing, service, and financial organizations. Dr. Norris is also a U.S. Army veteran and spent considerable time in Europe, which sparked his interest in anthropology and world cultures, which he studies whenever time allows. Dr. Norris enjoys teaching and conducting research on interesting topics, and frequently publishes articles. His areas of expertise are in organizational leadership, change management, and quality management systems. He received Kaplan University's (now Purdue Global's) Faculty Recognition Award in 2007 and the Outstanding Graduate Faculty Award in 2008.”
