Peg Long is the program chair for social and behavioral sciences programs. She joined Purdue Global (formerly Kaplan University) in 2005 as an adjunct online professor and became program chair in 2010. Ms. Long has an extensive background in criminal justice and related fields. She has been a certified substance abuse counselor since 1992. She worked with adolescent male sex offenders as a youth services worker and served as a counselor and re-entry coordinator for the Iowa Correctional Institution for Woman (ICIW).
Ms. Long graduated from Northwest Missouri State University in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in criminal justice. She later earned a Master of Public Administration from Drake University, where she was inducted into Pi Alpha Alpha, the national honor society for public affairs and administration. In 1991, Ms. Long became a certified peace officer through the State of Missouri.
