In Brief

The Purdue University Global School of Business and Information Technology’s mission is focused on developing competencies of career-focused students and empowering them to become ethical, insightful, solutions-orientated decision-makers, leaders, and lifelong learners in what is an increasingly complex and diverse global environment.

For business students, in addition to the core business administration curriculum, the School offers Bachelor of Science in Business Administration programs with concentrations focused on financial analysis, human resources, information system management, investments, management, marketing, procurement, project management, real estate, sales management, wealth management, and supply chain management and logistics. Business students may also choose a degree in accounting or finance. Also for business students, the School offers an Associate of Applied Science in Accounting and an Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration with concentrations in business, customer service, entrepreneurship, health club operations, hospitality management, information processing, meeting and event planning, office management, retail management, sales, or small business management.

For students pursuing information technology, cybersecurity, analytics, or cloud computing credentials, Purdue Global prepares graduates with a strong technical foundation and business skills to start or advance careers in programming and software development, information security, and network administration in government or private enterprise. In addition, the School offers a wide variety of industry certification preparatory courses that are critical to the industry today.

The School conferred more than 2,400 degrees and certificates in the 2017–2018 academic year.

Programmatic Accreditations

Purdue Global’s School of Business and Information Technology has received programmatic accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) for the Associate of Applied Science in Accounting, Associate of Applied Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Accounting, Master of Science in Finance, and Master of Science in Management and Leadership.

In August 2017, the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) approved programmatic accreditation for the School’s Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

Academic Alignments

The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has acknowledged the human resources concentrations in the following programs fully align with SHRM’s HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates: Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Management and Leadership, and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Also, the Master of Science in Finance with the financial planning concentration is a CFP Board-Registered Program.

ExcelTrack™

The School offers Bachelor of Science degrees in business, information technology, cloud computing, cybersecurity, analytics, and the Master of Business Administration through Purdue Global’s competency-based education program called ExcelTrack™. Designed to accelerate academic progress based on existing knowledge, such as previous college credits or workforce experience, ExcelTrack™ is a personalized learning program that gives students more control over their education.
